“The structure of the world is being created traditionally,” Catanzaro told, “the only thing the AI generates is the graphics.” He further said that the demo itself is fundamental, and has been connected by a single engineer. “It’s a proof-of-concept rather than a game that’s fun to play.”
This tech is still at the early stages, Catanzaro pointed out, and it will take almost decades for the AI-created graphics to come in consumer titles. He associated the situation with the making of ray tracing, which is the present hot method used for graphics rendered, in which separate light rays are created in real time to develop lifelike shadows, opacity, and reflections in simulated situations.
“The very first interactive ray tracing demo happened a long, long time ago, but we didn’t get it in games until just a few weeks ago,” he claimed.
