Almost 1.47 million individual solar panels installations are present in the US. Researchers at Stanford University have developed an artificial intelligence system, which has helped in counting them. This system has been described in a work launched on Wednesday. It mentions how the AI setup examined satellite image to work out how much extensive solar panel operation is.

“We hope the data produced by DeepSolar can aid researchers, policymakers and the industry in gaining a better understanding of solar adoption and its impacts,” the paper says.
According to the paper, the team further wishes to fill in the database every year and include more countries and areas in the coming years.
